The Mathematics of STDs
My partner and I belong to another "swinger's" website. This site provides users with the opportunity to post "testimonials".
Just out of curiosity, I followed the trail of someone with whom we'd played.
He had 8 testimonials posted, I followed the trail of just ONE of those and she had 7, followed just ONE of hers and they had 9, followed just ONE of those and that couple had TWENTY TWO testimonials.
You do the math of the trail of possible exposure to STDs, and keep in mind the "mushroom cloud" of STDs.
STDs aren't confined to just HIV or HepB. there are all sorts of inconvenient and/or dangerous critters out there as well.
Its a dangerous world out there so Be Smart and Be Safe.

I have also been concerned with what is out there and do my best to make sure if I'm going to play with someone, they are clean and test as I do. If I have any doubts about anyone, I don't play. My down fall is the feel of bare skin compared to a condom, but it's better than catching something you don't want.

This list I used on the other website was not just a "friend's" list Chris, they were "testimonials" from those with whom this person had played, HARD (perk) contact so to speak.

Great discussion, sorry to see so few responses and views. None of us WANT to talk about this, we would all prefer to just chat about the good stuff. But you are certainly correct, and HIV is the least of the worries, Hep B is much more infectious and common.
There is some talk about a "bedside" serological test kit. Does anyone know about this? Allows the used to test quickly (in minutes) in thier home. Take care..

C, it's really great you bring this up. When attention to AIDS, for example, started to wind down, there seemed to be a lot of I-don't-care attitudes. My friends, STD are real and very much out there. Protect yourself and your partner.

Well So Sorry for not backing you up on this one Cogi but yuh know I never read this crap.
However as you know we don't as you put it play with anyone but our small group of members, and that is once a month I think you know the reasons why, if thats not enough then it's just tuff. As far as playing with anyone on this site, in a word Notachance. I would sooner have my dick shot off than have it turn green and fall off the next time that I sneeze.
Our joining this site some three years ago was done firstly as a lark then as a study in the Psychology of human sexual behavior , the results have been interesting but not unexpected, in short people who join a site like this will say and do anything to get that which they can't seem to get any other way in real life even though it's all around them. The reasons for this are manifest,and to involved to get into here, now while we have made many friends while on this site and I certainly count you as one of my dearest, sex was NEVER on the table and we have always stated as much.
Now we have attended certain meet and greets and I will say this categorically the people there never once failed to live down to my expectations, health and safety for a potential partner and for their partners have never once been of a concern, it's always just been hey baby wanna fuck? and fuck the consequence.
Also this crap about protection,give me a break. Just how dose one use protection with say oral sex? as in men for Women. Oh wait I know Dental damn, a box of Saran wrap, a roll of Duct tape ,a Silicone caulking gun and a can of Raid. Ooooo what fun.
Anyone from this site and I say anyone from this site looking for sex cannot be trusted as far as one can trust a politician, and we all know how far that is, and after all they're just trying to fuck Yuh to.
So before you go and as they say play get out your little calculator and do the numbers people before you do someone else. It ain't the 70's anymore.
I say again Give me a break.

I've heard some promos re: "home testing" so to speak, but frankly, considering it can take up to six months after exposure to convert to a positive test, I don't find spot checking very comforting.
It is best to just prevent exposure.

i know the site your talking about, remember probably 90% of the testimonials you fallowed are fake profiles made by the original poster just like there are here. heck theres one whole group here that has meet and greets with large turn outs (so they said). well we've been chatting with a few of them only to find out that there all the same guy. we dropped by there meet and great and low and behold there were no swingers there. go figure

Justlookin, it really doesn't matter, even just 10% of the testimonials being authentic still represents a dangerously large potential for risky behavior.

As a couple who got caught as one of the statistics, for 35 years we were bisexual swingers, although careful, we caught herpes. Fortunately it is not significantly harmful, just an occasional annoyance. There are people on this and other sites who have this and say nothing. The scary part is that it is not part the STD testing profile because blood tests are unreliable. Also, condoms do not always stop transmission.

Exactly BiCpl, condoms, discretion, honesty are all elemental.
I was including Herpes in that alphabet soup of STDs as well.
And I might add, while not life threatening, Herpes is LIFE LONG.

I would say its more "quality than quantity".I have been seeing a married Bi guy for several months now, but before that the guys I met were usually Bi Novices or virgins.Someone on TV recently said you were "5000 times" more likely to get an STD during unprotected gay sex that straight sex.Some guys go in for "outdoors" stiff and "glory holes" but to me these things are akin to playing Russian Roulette.BTW if you have the address of the couple with 20 testimonials I would like it
